Daughters of American Revolution Removes All References to God

The Daughters of the American Revolution, whose motto is "God, home and country", removed all references to God and Christianity from all of its official books. Chaplains were told to stop using the name of Jesus. The DAR even removed "America the Beautiful" from its official documents because it mentions God.

This is very depressing!! God has always been a part of the American way, and the American Revolution!! Put God back were he belongs!!! Who ever started this should not be a part of the Daughters of the American Revolution!! Nor should they tell you what to be doing.

Hi Rebecca, thanks for your message.I couldn't agree more.I took a look at some new materials and so far, the America's Creed, etc. haven't change at all. I'll continue to be vigilant, but the local Regent has also been looking over materials and appears nothing has changed-hence, we regarded this was a sppof. I, too, am completely fed up with the pettiness and ignorance of God's name being removed from so many institutions.For a nation founded in God's name, how hypocritical is that?

Not if God has been messed with at all. Go to the DAR web-site and read the President's letter re: this issue. I am a long time DAR member as my mother before me. NOTHING should or needs to be touched and IF it has been, I have a choice either to stay and fight to change it back or not renew my membership. I'll have to see I guess. I'm tired of God being removed from everything. He needs to be put back and then maybe he will have mercy on us!

Is anyone understanding that this was just a spoof? None of the books, creeds, prayers--nothing has changed. Nothing was removed. Membership is up, life is good (at least at the meetings,)--a wonderful group of dedicated, highly intelligent, diverse women dedicated to honoring the sacrifices of their ancestors and appreciating this young Democracy.

You can be a non-christian and be patriotic...there are PLENTY of athiests, pagans, jews, and other religions in the military fighting for the freedom of ALL religions in the USA not just christianity.
