What year was that shot in Central Park? Was that last summer? I'm trying to figure out If I was there that day skating. Are you a skater? If so, you may know who I am. The Son of the Late Great "Dr. Skatemore" Randy Higginson, the Originator, Creator of DISCO ROLLERSKATING! May he rest in peace. And I hope you didn't forget that my father is the man who began this craze. I Randy Jr., keep skating and hoping he's watching over all of us!

Skaters circle is mid-April-end of October, 3-6:30 pm weekends & holidays, immediately followed by the deep house after-party at 7 pm, about 30 yards away along the same road. During the winter season November - March, the after-party starts at 3 pm, as long as the temperature's 55 degrees or above & it's sunny.
April-October there are also two drum circles nearby, 5 pm until 10 pm.
Enter Central park at east or west 72nd street, walk towards the middle of the park near the Bandshell.

I agree with this. I was out with my ex-girlfriend in Central Park on July 4th of '05, and she told me about this. We went to check it out, and lo and behold, I saw one of my co-workers there...who is actually a member of the CPDSA. He told me to come on down anytime I wanted. Haven't done it yet however. But I ran into him the other day, and he said "Don't 4get. Come on down." I plan on doing just that this season.

Awesome!!!
How come I live in Manhattan, I love house music, and I have never heard of this? I'm a huge house fan, so this is just awesome to me..

New York is full of stuff you'll never know about in a lifetime of living here.
The CPDSA skate circle happens (nearly) every Saturday, Sunday and holiday on Center Drive in Central Park from 2:30 to 6:30. There is also an unofficial "afterparty" just up the road that is hit-or-miss, but in my opinion better than the CPDSA thing when it hits. Both are free, and open to the public.
