good but throwing a hook with knuckles facing up will give you a boxer's fracture best to keep knuckles facing the opponent

@kaiyokoon thats not true Ive hooked like that just fine - I have this argument everytime with my best mate, if you have your knuckles facing on a hook then you can potentially damage your thumb and it takes quite a bit of range away from the move. HOWEVER he would argue that you can power it more using your lats and bicep and have more control over the shot (ability to stop it mid way if you need to) and that it is better "boxing form" - all valid points, no "absolute truths" in a fight .

@SuperKam100 if someone starts on me without provocation and continues even after Ive tried to dissuade them ... the fact that they "cant fight" is hardly my problem - if they "cant fight" they shouldnt have started one should they?

you'll find with experience that learning how to batter people who "cant fight" yet start fights on innocent people anyway is hardly "unhelpful".... mate.

but its not a huge chance that every street fight encounter is with highly skilled boxer. long as i keep my head moving im pretty confident some drunk fuck wont manage to land a hectic king hit to my jaw :)

Hey Richie

Do you think any modifications should be made when using boxing for street fighting? For example, in modern boxing you train with 16oz gloves which give you more greater surface area to defend than bareknuckle. Do you recommend any modifications from boxing to make it more street/bare knuckle applicable?

Rich is a great tutor and a very inteligent guy. Unfortunately the bouncers in my country are pre-dominantly complete idiots with very doubtfull backgrounds so I developed a huge disgust for them.

Do you ever explain how it's a bad idea to throw a horizontal hook like that in real life? You will fuck up your wrist/knuckles if you connect with any force. Ask Mike Tyson. Verticle fist and connecting with middle and ring finger knuckles is much safer for the streets than horizontal fist, elbows up and connecting with index/middle finger knuckles.
