@najika852 No, it was written and 1st performed before Hie Majesty King Geore the III, and at the event of the Hallelujah Corus, the King Stood up, and Ever since it has been Custom to stand when that portion of the Messiah is performed.

The soprano is April Cantelo one of the finest British sopranos of the post 2nd world war generation. Later a highly distinguished singing teacher at the RNCM and RWCMD.
