YES! I've always thought that Edward was an incredibly creepy stalker.

Can I favorite this video forever? Oh, but it'd be nice if you also pointed the issue of bringing up Twilight in COMPLETELY UNRELATED SITUATIONS JUST TO HATE ON IT. "Oh, there's a vampire in a completely unrelated show, which reminds me how much I hate Twilight Fuck Twilight!" <---That sort of thing. Because frankly it's uneccessary and irritating. It's the same with Justin Beiber haters, actually. Anyway, grats getting the word out, hope people see this and stop being brainless dickheads.

You forgot 100 years older than her....

I hate Twilight for many reasons, such as taking feminism back 100 years by saying that women can't do things for themselves - and I'm a man.

I have never read the Twilight books, but I have unfortunately seen the first film, out of curiousity. Leaving aside the fact that is was quite boring, and I thought the acting was terrible... the characterisations were AWFUL. Bella is one-dimensional, yet she comes to a new school and suddenly all these guys want her, she has all these friends, yet she shows ZERO personality or qualities. She ignores her friends for boys. It really feels like the author was living out a bizarre fantasy

Creepy manipulative overprotected stalker. Good point. As a guy I thought the Twilight movies were alright but just not written for my demographic. Thinking about it further I realize what a bad example Bella is to women. She is very weak and dependent. Perhaps the writer will have an arc for her almost non-character in the next two movies.

I kind of wish I was still taking classes where I could write a paper about the damage Twilight does to young women. I worry about 12 or 13 year olds who think Bella and Edward are an example of a perfect relationship. It will make them a lot less likely to notice the warning signs of an abusive relationship, such as the stalking, isolating her from her friends, and protectiveness.

@feministfrequency I would love to see a video explaining how insulting Bella Swan is. I don't think people (especially girls and women) really understand how destructive the character is to female empowerment. I think you could deliver it eloquently. I love your videos.

For awhile I've been thinking, what if this same story was played absolutely straight? Like, a horror film about this girl whose being stalked and terrorized by an emotionally abusive guy with supernatural powers? Like, the stalker aspect is genuine source of tension, rather than Stephanie Meyer's bizarre attempt at a love story?

@gdhuertas07 Best quote ever.
She missed a good chance to mention the real problem with Twilight. Unlike other fantasy stories (like Harry Potter even), Twilight consists of a weak-minded female lead who is indecisive between 2 perfect boys who are willing to do anything for. As she straddles between risking her life for a high school crush and being anti-social, she feels sorry for herself whenever one of her boyfriends aren't around. She has no drive, no higher goals in life (not even college). That's enough right there.

@caspringer09 This video is not about Bella, it's about the homophobic criticisms of Twilight. Trust me, I have PLENTY of criticisms of how horrible of a character Bella is.
