Agree that achamanam should not be done facing west. One should do this facing north, except for the argyam. Second part ie gayathri japam should be done facing west. Secondly, tunes while reciting vedic mantras are not correct, syllable gaps are absent, very flat. Vedic mantras out of tune is an injustice to our ancestors who gave us the vedas unchanged. Just a humble opinion

I thought achamanam (achuthaya namaha, ananthaya namaha, govindaya namaha) should not be done facing west but this video shows achamanam done facing west. Is this right?
