@diepiriye as a reply in this healthy debate, I would like to say that because of our intelligence and military personal we have defeated and disarmed many terrorists. We WANT to not have war, but how can you fight violence when you are disarmed? A country starts to invade, they attack, we are disarmed...do we stand there trying to speak peace while they are killing our innocent civilians? Yes, I agree nonviolence works, but when we are speaking in terms of civil rights, freedoms, and liberties.

I agree that listening is very important. However politics (Israel/ Palestine) is based mostly on greed/money/power. Dialogue can't fix that. When one group of people already know they are in the wrong and still persit, there is not much you can do about it. Its kind of like believing that America will give the stolen land back to the Natives. All the talking in the world will never make this happen. Some age old conflicts will always be unless one party is destroyed.

Thanks for the clarification!

Buddhism is both philosophy and religion. In Buddhism we enter different meditations. SGI buddhism is the practice of the Lotus Sutra meditation, "looking at the way's our life can shift within the ten worlds." SGI's Nichiren Shoshu Buddhism is a religion as are all forms of Buddhism. The Buddhisms are non-theistic. The SGI is seperate from the priesthood, a Japanese cultural institution, but it is still a religious philosophy.
Great Video!

I love it and yes philosophy *not* religion is freeing, isn't it. Thank you for so much Truth!
nice message, but just saying...Israel WANTS peace! Israel has taken GREAT STRIDES to create peace. Israel's population is 20% Arab, but in this "Palestinian state" would 20% of the population be Jewish? Israel wants peace, and EVERY DAY Israel stands by this message. Countless Israeli's have died in hopes of peace. One day. That is ISRAEL'S hope!

@EJmusicman Israel and the USA are armed tot he teeth. That does not inspire peace, and so neither of us should be surprised at the level of terrorism we provoke in the world and also within our own borders among our own people. Both Israel and the USA give a loy of lip service to fighting racism, for example, yet look at how divided we are as individual nations.

@diepiriye but how can we defend ourselves against terrorism without being armed? At the end of the day both Israel and the USA would LOVE to not have to be armed, but it is a sad reality that at this moment there are many terrorists and there are bad people that we must stand up and fight against. Hopefully someday soon this will not be the case, but as for now...

@EJmusicman Well, put it this way: How's the fighting working out for you or any of us? It may soud cheezy, but there was a saying that emerged during the build up to the invasion of Iraq: "Fighting for peace is like fucking for virginity!" You cannot start with war and expect to end up with peace. Non-violence is a tool, and I know that this probably sound ridiculous to you. PLEASE, however, give it some thought. People perish, either way, but fewer people die when we start with disarmament!
