- Easy to access for reduced-mobility
- Central tracks remove need for overpasses and ramps
- Allows drainage with existing sewage lines.
- For expansion of existing high-floor systems
- Allows direct free-flowing bus to rail transition

  • Isn't it really for low floor light rail vehicles so it should be called low floor light rail stop.

  • @denny906 No, this is for high-floor vehicles, but the traincar entrance is on the ground floor because the tracks are dug into the ground.

  • Cool! Where would this station go?

  • Because it doesn't need overpasses and ramps because the platform is ground level, they can fit in any road median very easily for any expansion projects. You can save the money and maybe build 3-4 stations for the price of 2.

  • Oh I get it now. The tracks dip down into a trough so that the floor level of a high platform rail car is even with the boarding platform. Great idea especially for older light rail systems that use high platform rail cars.
