On July 9, 2009, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston hosted its first-ever group karaoke party to celebrate the Seeing Songs exhibition (mfa.org/songs). Video Artist Candice Breitz installation, Queen (A Portrait of Madonna) — featuring 30 people singing karaoke to Madonnas hit song Vogue — was projected on the MFAs Huntington Avenue façade. Bostonians participated in a group karaoke sing-a-long including favorites by Michael Jackson, Bon Jovi, Beyoncé and Neil Diamond. The Material Girl herself even made an appearance.

  • that installation was one of the most incredible things i've ever seen! it was just so fascinating to look at each person and see their interpretation of Madonna.

  • Watching random people dance is great fun. Listening to random people sing is painful. (:o)
