You made some good points. I would argue that, if this is valid at all, any insights gained must be in the light of a plain and contextual reading of the scriptures. After all if the text can't be read and understood in a meaningful way by the common man then it's completely useless. Therefore to ensure proper and sound doctrine any insights gleaned must line up with a plain, simple and straight forward interpretation of scripture; such as would be available to the common man.

  • This is a fascinating idea although it is hard for me to really wrap my mind around it. I have to think about this much more deeply.

  • Ultimately you decide which correspondences are most meaningful to yourself and to which end. What all of this is, is a Blessing from G-d, tools for us to understand and connect back with the universe and the Divine (or to connect with almost anything one wishes truthfully). The limit is what one can conceive of. Ultimately however, if one cannot learn to trust oneself in this, it will be diificult to learn to trust the insights of anyone else as well.

  • Thank you very much, Rabbi.

  • Rav Trugman is connected in the most meaningful, authentic way to the mystical Jewish tradition and the Torah of Moshe, given to Israel at Mount Sinai 3300 years ago. He is not 'manipulating' anything. He is extremely well read, researched and studied in the innermost depths of the Torah. He also happens to be an exceptional teacher who has studied under known masters in Israel.
