Korean Oaks Winner's 1st race in US.
The KRA has been talking about doing that for a long time as part of their "internationalization" plan for Korean horse racing, placing horses in races across the world to check the level of domestic horses.
KRA sent Baekpa which won Korean Oaks in 2007 to US.
As Pick Me Up, which was the frist Korean-bred horse sent to US, was beaten hollow three times, she tried the allowance race. But she was unplaced in a field of fifth again.
I guess we knew that was going to happen, but her time was disappointing anyway - that race didn't appear much faster than mile races at Busan.
We can quite easily check the standard of Korean horses by racing them against the extremely average imported horses here in Korea. It has the same result and saves flying them half way around the world to be humiliated.
Hopefully whoever has gone with her from Korea can benefit so they can at least gain something from the experiment

Thank you VERY much posting this race!
Even Korean oaks winner couldn't match up with big sisters... I figured that she would get the last position, but it's still distressing. KRA should've sent hunk, leggy horse to compete in US.
Thank you again! :)
