  • i like new ways to interact with information's, but this is plain stupid

"best interface is no interface at all"

  • you dont' ne no high tech monitor to do this

  • For the uneducated person who said "if you need to use that cylinder, it's not a touch screen" you obviously dont know what you are talking about. Traditional touchscreens needed a finger or other similar conductor to work. These type of screens can use objects as well. You do not NEED the objects but using tehm connects to a pre-programmed task allowing several types of interaction.

  • This interface was designed for the Bishop Museum's New Science Center in Oahu, Hawaii. It uses an infra-red camera to track the touch down, pick up and x,y location of upto 10 different specimens embedded in clear resin pucks. We used RFID chips in the base of each puck for the system to identify which puck was in use.

The general idea was to bring the media that explained the science closer to the subject in question via an engaging physical interaface.

  • if you need to use that cylinder, it's not a touch screen
