When we saw the price tag on the Gibson Melody Maker, it was hard to believe that there was an American made Gibson guitar for under $400. We put it to the test here to see if the guitar is worth it.

The Melody Maker is a very simple guitar that uses only one single coil pickup, while still maintaining a thicker tone than other popular single coil axes in the same range. Take a look and a listen and see if the price tag is too good to be true.

  • I'm normally not this... facetious, but this is probably the most horrible sounding guitar review I've ever witnessed.

  • "What?!? another take???? You guys DO realize its 4:20 right?!?!?!" "What did you say? Nah, I tuned it yesterday..."

  • What the fuck, Gearwire? The Melody Maker is an awesome little guitar, and you gave it this horribly bland review by someone who isn't fit for the job? How about this--give me the goddamned guitar and I will show everyone here why it is one of the coolest little guitars money can buy.

  • @onlyeyesabove because if your intonation is out your fretted notes may be slightly sharper or flatter...its to do with the length of the string itself i think... if its too long or too short it will have an effect on your tuning up the neck.. chances are if you have ever tuned up and strummed a chord that still sounds out of tune no matter how much you tune the thing your intonation is out.. simple stuff but really makes a massive difference :) google it for the proper explanation :)

  • @brimill1980 because im honestly curious why does the intonation change the pitch?

  • @13FloorsDown He plays a Les Paul JR which is roughly the same guitar but thicker body and it has a p90

  • Dosnt Billie Joe Armstrong have one like that?

  • hey people! usa made???? the logo look strange to me, it is not the same on mine, it seems that the "o" in gibson look open like on some epiphone..................

  • UGLY Headstock on melody maker.

  • This kid has been smoking too much jazz tobacco...

NOT TO GEARWIRE: SEND THIS KID BACK TO GETTING THE COFFEE'S!!!

(Mines a capuccino with cream and sugar, and an apple Danish)

  • the review was great but the guitar is not tune @fuckingfuckdude

  • 530 not 350
