I checked again..and she did say that the neighbor told her that she had a foreclosure notice on her door. I got it wrong. But hey? Honestly, what we are going through has been for many years. It's learning how to get through these times that is key.

You underestimate what you have... you have more than hope! It sounds as if you get it.You see that living beyond ones means is a problem that holds us back from living a fruitful, financially sound, even fulfilled life. Renting is an option for many at different stages of life, and isn't necessarily a bad thing. Just be careful what you buy now, as I think we are being misled on the housing crisis being "over". If you plan on staying where you buy a long time and you get a good deal, go 4 it!

I been laid off my job time and time again. I never got a chance to buy a home. I am a single mom and it's a struggle but I've learned to manage money and at my age I am just now able to buy a home. I will be paying $125 less in mortgage for a 4BR 2BA home than I am for this 1 BR 1BA apartment. If I do get laid off again, I hope to be financially prepared. I hope to make it to retirement. Notice I used HOPE. Cause that is all we have.

Actually, it will be cheaper than renting. The money you spend paying something that you will never own is a waste of your money. Young people and older people too spend way too much money buying fancy cars with high notes instead of looking into putting those dollars into savings and eventually putting money away. You have to put money away in order to look out for when something like this happens. At least until you are able to find another job.

I probably should take a look at the video again. I thought she said the neighbor had a foreclosure notice but maybe the neighbor was telling her that she had a foreclosure notice.

She said they were foreclosing on her. The bank doesn't randomly come and take your house away: UNLESS YOU DIDN'T PAY YOUR MORTGAGE. She acted as if they shouldn't follow up on the contract that she signed. If she were renting, she would have been evicted. I'm glad you are encouraged and hope that you can pay your bills, as jobs are not on the rise, and won't be any time soon. Companies are cutting back because their taxes have increased. That's the way it works.
