  • The Eagles version is one of my long time favourites, but I have to say that Alan did a fantastic job of it! I don't think he will usurp the Eagles in my heart, but he is a very close second!

Nicely done. It is very sad that people on here can't constructively criticize or just hold their tongue.

  • @Dreamquestin Don't let it get to you. The whole point of Youtube is that you can act like a total douchebag without fear of prosecution.

  • It takes a great deal of courage to 'cover' another artist's signature song. Takes both courage and talent to remain on pitch and in rhythm singing a capella. Takes neither to rip someone to shreds verbally/via internet.

  • @steelmagnolia58 Well put!

  • In retrospect, I could have fixed that flub with audacity. Oh well..

  • My favorite rendition of this song is done by the Eagles. But Alan Jackson did a good job of covering it. He knew all of the lyrics and stayed on pitch. Very enjoyable, which is more than can be said of some other groups' cover of this classic tune. I would listen to Alan sing it again.

  • i thought he did it very well just cause it's a different voice doesn't make it bad as long as it was done in respect to the original and i'm sure alan had nothing but respect.

  • nicley done....

  • Not an Alan Jackson fan, or even a country music fan, but no complaints here

  • Pretty awful. Sounds like he listened to Eagles' crappy version. Steve Young's own version is by far the best.

  • No one can top the Eagles' version, but Alan does a terrific job putting his own touch to it.

  • @alanjackfn no no no it's Steve Young 's , Eagles covered it

  • Nice version. He made the song his as opposed to trying to be "The Eagles". Thank you for posting.

  • This is awesome !!!

  • I think it's funny how everyone is talking about the original version from the Eagles... Everyone does a great job with this song but do your research and you'll find out that STEVE YOUNG is the original singer/songwriter of 7BR. You should check him out. Also wrote many other hits like Waylon Jennings "Lonesome Onry and Mean"
