The Famicom allowed for sound expansion chips (in Konami's case, they used their VRC6 and VRC7 chips) which simply allowed for more sound channels, not more sample or PCM channels. It's still entirely 8-bit and simple square waves - the VRC6 didn't allow for other sound waves. Other chips like Namco's N106 allowed different pulses and waveforms, and Konami's VRC7 allowed for very complex FM-style emulation (like in Lagrange Point)

music is math. if you can grasp adding and subtracting, you can grasp the basics of music theory.

i dunno what it is.. i cant play an instrument or anything, but i can remember every lil note in video game music an either whistle or hum it out even after so many years. hah love nintendo
