A little review of the MIP X-duty cvd for the Stampede vxl 4x4. I know I said I broke three shafts and then listed four. I ended buying three replacements but not using all the pieces every breakage.

  • I think these are an awesome upgrade. The only issue are the grub screws that hold the yokes to the outdrive shafts of the diff. See vid called "Traxxas stampede 4x4 mip x-duty shaft pin modification redo"

  • They are great. The only thing I do not like are the grub screws that hold the yoke to the output shaft. They are hard to keep tight. I just switched to Hpi part number 86094 screw shafts to hold the yokes to the the output shaft. They fit perfect and seem to work great.

  • Jc, stick with the pede. Way tougher and easier to get parts. Especially if u bash.

  • 2s 7.4v li-po 20c 5000mah

  • I had the slash 4x4 for 1.5 years and never had the bent shaft problem on the stockers, but I have heard of it. I have not had any problems with the MIP ones breaking, bending, or anything if that helps. I have them on the front and rear now and they are awesome.

  • What are the updates to the MIP's? This post is old, are there any new verdicts? Looking to either call traxxas for warranty parts or just the bite the bullet and buy the MIP's or the Technos for the 4x4 stampede - cause it sounds like that might be the only finial alternative to the stock shafts. just would like to know...

  • do you like them? im getting them for the rear of my slash

  • I upgraded to the X-Dutys after breaking TOO MANY stock axles. Haven't had any problems with them at all. Even though I'm running a Mamba Monster W/2200kv motor on 5 and 6s. By far the best upgrade yet!!

  • throw a mamba max pro sct 2400 running on 4s 5000mah in and you will break all 4 very quickly, I put the mip x heavy duty shafts on back and they have held up well, but I put a set of venom cvds on front and broke both of the venoms in with in 1 battery pack so I am saving up for more x heavy cvds. I saw the URC stampede truggy and am not sure as to buying the Hyper10tt or further modifying my 4x4 stampede what do you think?

  • Yeah just thing past w/e I broke one of my stock axles. Not really broke but the circular holes that hold the pin are now oval shape and they fall apart.

Gonna order the MIP CVD for back at least probably front to.

  • What size battery were you running when the shafts broke?
