The Lahu girls' first semester comes to a conclusion, and the girls have one last chance to prove themselves to the Chinese in the school's annual winter games. For the sake of Miss Peng and their parents the girls train hard for competitions in pole-climbing, running, rope-skipping, and calisthenics. Will they win?

  • k this so wrong I'm a parent of a lil boy whom is Sherpa and is a monk in a monastery in India. I don't want him to forget his Sherpa heritage and to keep his culture and identity yes he will be learning Hindi and English but he will all ways be Sherpa.

  • Thank you so much for sharing this video series. It was very moving and very powerful and I was sent number one of this video series from a friend on sodahead.com and I am glad that she had sent this video series to me for it is sad to see how robotic the Chinese have become. Do we really want them to be robots or shouldn't we let them have fun and be just like kids. I saw we should let them have fun and just be like kids for that is what they are, kids and not robots!

  • I feel bad for Miss Peng

  • I am Lahu and I am proud to know my culture and speak the Language. Learning the countires native language is very important but the girls should still be able to know their culture as well. I don't like the idea of socialism. I hate how the chines teachers and principle think that they were unteachable. You can teach a child just about anything it takes time. I would love to visit the chinese lahu. I am a Laotian Lahu and its cool that there are Lahu in a different country.

  • I'd like to take Ms. Peng out to dinner sometime...

  • this documentary really disappointed me , at the very last it end up with a bland cold war propaganda, if they doomed to denouce socilism, why China (which goes to extreme capitalism) and why these cute girls? that's a waste of these wonderful people which have more wonderful stories to share with us in front of the screen.

  • "enlightened workers for socilism" bull shit with 1950s cold war ideology.

  • Hell Im white american... and unless they speak I cannot tell the difference between a white british person.. can you? or a french person, or person from canada?

  • Lahu look different from other Chinese people. Just like Japanese look different from Chinese Mongolians look different and Vietnamese look different. Different ethnicities look different.

I thought that was rather plain to see 0.0

But looks don't matter. Prejudice is dumb.

  • You can tell? Oh really how is that?
