Red Hot Chili Peppers and NEW Lead Guitarist Josh Klinghoffer perform This Velvet Glove at the Silesian Stadium in Chorzow, Poland on the 3rd of July in 2007!

Josh Klinghoffer has taken the place of John Frusciante as the Red Hot Chili Peppers lead guitarist after John announced that he quit. After eleven months of writing and rehearsing, the reformed Red Hot Chili Peppers began recording their new album on September 13th, 2010! According to drummer Chad Smith, Josh Klinghoffer would also sing, write music and play keyboards on the upcoming album, which is due out in 2011!

This Velvet Glove is track 11 on RHCP's seventh studio album, "Californication" which was released on June 8th 1999. Mark Woodlief of Ray Gun commented that "'This Velvet Glove' strikes an intricate balance between a lush acoustic guitar foundation and anthemic rock.

  • I'm wondering how the next album would turn out if they would all participate in it. The 5 of them.

5 chili peppers... I think it would be awesome!

  • @sean33313 Reminds me of a mini John Frusciante! :)

  • This is the definition of beauty

  • @YertlePsychoStain I'm not trying to offend you man, I'm just pointing out that it doesn't fit the band's dynamic. There is a difference in their dynamic on stage and their dynamic in the studio, because it's hard to overdub onstage. Frusciante is a capable enough guitarist to be the only guitarist, that is without Josh there to accompany him, but that's my opinion.

  • @Caleb5617 If you look closely at the video, you would notice that Flea is playing with two guitarists on the stage. Shocking. And Anthony explained that Josh was touring with them during the SA tour for the reason to let John Frusciante play more solos/do his stuff while Josh plays rhythm.

"They never had the urge to have separate rhythm and lead guitarists". Again, look closely at the video. John leads, Josh plays rhythm.

  • @YertlePsychoStain The chemistry would probably be different, and Flea would have to play along with two guitars instead of one. That's why it has always been a four piece, because they have never had the urge to have separate rhythm and lead guitarists.

  • Tylko JOhn Frusciante byl ok !!!!! !a zreszta nie wiem jakim cudem ten film jest w nocy jak on i grali w dzien!!!!

  • @YertlePsychoStain Thats what I thought was gonna happen. They would be incredible with John AND Josh writing. and think about all the other songs they could play live that they couldn't before. Dosed. Especially in Mich. turn it again,

  • Pure Hendrix

  • @and1dima He's just groovin'.

  • I really like Josh he's kickin ass it's not easy remember what happened to Dave Navarro. He acted like a baby lol at least Josh is more the RHCP style with his own guitar skills he brings something to the band! I dig it and yes, he does look like he could be related to John without a doubt.

  • @YertlePsychoStain Jeez i never thought of that, that would actually be so good!
