As Barack Obama deliberates a new strategy for Afghanistan, anti-war organizations are partaking in mass protests across the country to show their disgust with the war. They want to convince government officials and lawmakers that the war is unjustified and should come to an end immediately. One of those organizations is 'Act Now to Stop War and Racism.' RT's Dina Gusovsky speaks to Sarah Sloan from the Answer Coalition about what to expect in the next few weeks.

  • Obama = Bush. Hope? Yes, we can? Change, we can believe in? Obama = debt debt debt trillions of dollars. Where are we getting this money from? This money could be used at home.

  • No country has ever won in Afghanistan and no country ever will. Al Qaeda can just kick back in Pakistan and wait us out. Traditional warfare will fail. Get out now!

  • we havent done enough! those bastards in afghanistan helped the terror network that killed thousands of U.S. citizens

  • The Afgan war drained the USSR into bankruptcy and the main reason the left was a New Leader (Gorbachev) As of 2011, 9 years in Afganistan. 200 Billlion targeted for 2012/2013. Yet 10% unemployment, housing crisis, and now they want cuts in Medicare/Social Security. END THE WAR. Contact your Congressman/Senators!!

Vote, it is the only way. Protest, let your voice be heard

  • @leathalprey-cant promise not 2 go crazy, but i’ll try not 2 get 2 librl if u try not 2 go blind on 1 side. lib vs con isnt like right vs wrong. that’s like saying there’s an up but no down. both have validity. libs tend 2 think ppl do best when they cooperate. cons think competition=best outcome. the truth = both r true. so u need to look at both. well, that’s an oversimplification if i ever wrote 1, but i only have 500 characters. i hope u glanced@ some stuff i mentioned. looking wont hurt u.

  • @censored6x. Thank you. You too. Just dont go crazy like all of those brain- washed liberals. Dont do anything you'll regret. You were defenatley worth my time. USMC! "Mess with the best. Die like the rest!"

  • @leathalprey i think u r terrific & i'm so thankful that ppl like u serve our country. i dont fight but i feel just as committed 2 this country as u do & i want 2 see it do better. i think i'd be willing 2 die 4 it. i really hope u stay safe. i just want 2 say that even tho i'm not on the battlefield, i will fight for what i think is right 4 this country, too. my only weapon is words. but, i think thats the best weapon in the long term. i dont think u can ever win by might alone. be well

  • @censored6x. Okay. I will look it up.Dont want to be bias. But whether the war started becuase of the disaster of 9/11 or for oil. I will fight for the country no matter what. I feel it is my duty to this country as a proud and patriotic American. Even if i means dying the moment i step into enemy territory, i will be there when the country needs me. Maybe some protesters should go to Marines boot camp. See why our men and women serve this country the way they do. instead of walking around yelln

  • @leathalprey i dont undrstnd Y wikiP gets a bad rap from sum ppl. i googled-how reliable is wikiP-& results show its HI'LY reliable. it footnotes its sources so u can check where info comes from. if the author doesnt give a source, it says 'citation needed'. also, when the article is disputed, its indicated @ the top. i actually find the NY Times FAR < reliable. i still wish u wd LOOK @ it 2 see Y ppl protest. i found it fascinating. or try torturingdemocracy or rethink afghanistan. up 2 u ;)

  • UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS. "Mess with the best and die like the rest!"

  • @censored6x. I respect you and what you say but i do not agree. Sorry but wikipedia is not a very reliable source. A great deal of the articles written on that website can be written and revised by anyone, with an acount. I am not trying to tell that your opinion on the war is wrong but it is your choice of thought and i respect it. And yes, for some occasions the best way to support our troops is by bringing them back. But ther r many patriotic soldiers prefering to stay and continue our duty.

  • @leathalprey do you know why people are protesting the war? i just ask you to take the time to read this to find out some of the reasons behind the protests:

Opposition to the War in Afghanistan [wikipedia]

the best way i know to support the troops is to bring them home from this grossly immoral war which was planned before 9/11 and has nothing to do with fighting terrorism
