5th AUB Faculty Seminar on TEACHING AND LEARNING WITH TECHNOLOGY - Prof. Georges Fadel

Prof. Georges Fadel presentation entitled "A Professor at Clemson University (US) Teaching an Online Course at AUB" was about a new online graduate course that was offered and taught at AUB for the first time during the spring semester of 2007. Twelve students registered in the course attended one 2-hour live online lecture per week, during which they saw the instructor and asked questions. Moodle was used for additional course resources and content, assignment submission, and asynchronous interaction. The design projects of the students were evaluated by the instructor during the last two weeks of the semester when he visited AUB. Professor Fadel talked about his experience with the course and the students and commented on the learning achieved through this mode compared to conventional mode of lecturing in class. He simultaneously offered the same course to mechanical engineering graduate students in Clemson University.
