My first glimpse of the new LCY-JFK service as this BA A318 takes off from London City Airport runway 9 to JFK via Shannon as Speedbird 001 (sorry for the poor quality and shaky camera, i will try better next time)

  • I experienced my first takeoff from LCY a few weeks ago in one of the Embraer aircraft. The takeoff is very powerful and simply fantastic.

  • ooh wow !! that pretty interesting !! :D thanks a lot for the info !! :D

  • It's an all business class configuration so they only carry about 30 passengers, each with a flat bed. The A318 was chosen because it's about the largest aircraft you can operate at LCY.

  • @0860708556 lol yea its absolutely strange innit? i wonder how the passengers go cramped up for 7 odd hours straight, with not much room tp walk in lol! :)
