    I guess you missed this line: "The university claims that consistent reductions in cloud height could potentially lead to more efficient cooling of the planet, thus reducing Earth’s surface temperature and maybe even slowing down the effects of global warming." This is what is expected in the Iris Effect!

    Actually, It states that more research is needed to verify the claim! Let's remember that from time to time, It takes a while to verify theories.

    Roger Davies from University of Auckland the lead researcher on study of cloud levels over the last 10 years claims the cloud levels have been lowering, but it's not know why or if it can allow for more efficient cooling. They said that it's too short a time period.
