What was the sign of Jonah?

The learned men among the Jews - the Scribes and Pharisees - came to Jesus and asked, "MASTER, WE WOULD SEE A SIGN FROM THEE".

Jesus replies: "AN EVIL AND ADULTEROUS GENERATION SEEKETH AFTER A SIGN; AND THERE SHALL NO SIGN (no miracle) BE GIVEN TO IT, BUT THE SIGN (miracle) OF THE PROPHET JONAS"

Why parables?

God choose men, the profets, to dress His word, men He made different.

Each dresses the message in his own style and choice of embellishment in reflection to his audience.

This is so we can bring His words into our minds;

And thus WHEN we give TIME to allow them to RESIDE and RESSONATE;

into our HEARTS

Are we not taught (in ALL Holy Scriptures), that we will face trials?

That we must choose to walk along the rocky path?

and not wander on the wide and easy path?

For if we wish to past through the narrow gate?!

A 'seed' can pass through the belly of any mammal including Man.

This principle is what many fruit bearing trees rely on to spread their seed.

Not only that, some (not all) require this to happen!

The seeds are designed for this! If they do not pass through the bellies of mammals,

their outer skins are not removed and cannot take root in good soil!

I ask you to reflect?

Do you not remember that Jesus taught in parables? Riddles? Or in Allegory? Or in Emblem?

As so was the tradition? Amongst ALL prophets of God.

i am here to response mr ahmed deedhat followers, the sign is about residing in earth belly like whale belly, if you want to answer whether jesus is died or not, can you answer me seed in earthly belly will die or not die, answer this first then i would answer you

@munktorp If Jonah died in the belly of the fish then the miracle is that God rose Him from the dead through His directive providence for His own glory . It says Jonah cried out from "Sheol" and can be translated the grave / afterlife, please refer to Jonah 2:2 . The Miracle is Christ dying on the cross and that He rose again on the third day. Without Christ rising from the dead there is no propitiation for sin and no way to be saved from sin such as lying , lusting and so on.

@Roxika I am just saying,after reading book of Jonah that he was ALIVE ! In the belly of the fish !!!

If he was allive Jesus was allive ! If Jonas died in the belly of the fish,there is no miracle at all ! When you expect someone to die,and he die,there is no miracle ! But if you expect him to die but he dont die,that is what I call miracle !!!

@munktorp Are you saying that Jesus deceived everyone into thinking that He died on the cross ? Isnt it true that to further the cause of allah you are permitted to lie ? What type of god permits sin ? Why should anyone believe any of the words you speak, they may all be lies to deceive a person into conversion. Yes allah is the best schemer, a god of makara. A god who permits lying at any level must also be a liar. This is where you have no assurance of salvation for allah may be lying.
