Such as.... even if he were cleansed, and it wasn't his will behind the Scourge's actions the entire time, there aren't a lot of factions within WoW who would be sympathetic. They'd likely put him to death or something.

I think they could've had him keep the Scourge in check, and still have the catalyst of Bolvar's supposed death, fueling the war between the Horde and Alliance.

@JJ3000125 Yeah, sorry for my previous comment, I didn't mean to come off as that pissed off and combative. It's a side effect of hanging around on youtube too much and dealing with trolls too regularly. It makes it too easy to misunderstand what someone's really saying.

I could've seen something like Arthas's soul being returned to him(all the others escaped Frostmourne, after all), and then he serves to keep the Scourge in check himself. Him becoming cleansed would've produced problems, tho.

Honestly, I'm sick of Arthas fanboys by this point. You all keep saying Arthas shouldn't die at all. HE IS THE VILLAIN OF THE GOD-DAMNED EXPANSION. He *HAS* to die, or just not be in WoW.

No end to Arthas or WotLK would satisfy the fanboys. So Blizz shouldn't even worry about them. I'd feel cheated if Arthas just escaped in the end.

@gerardmontalvo the Lich King is just a 2nd powerful personality that fused with Arthas. 2 beings, 1 body. But Arthas managed to trick Ner'Zhul and became the dominate haft.
