John Lennon: Summer of 1980

I decided to shake it up yet again and add more books from my personal collection. The first is a book released by Yoko Ono called "John Lennon: Summer of 1980". It contains all black and white photographs of John from the summer of 1980 and the recording of Double Fantasy. The second series of pictures which appears after the back cover of Yoko's book is from The Last Days of John Lennon by his former personal assistant, Fred Seaman. Both books are now out of print, but can be found used in a variety of places although Seaman's book may be more difficult and/or expensive to acquire due to Yoko Ono's lawsuit against him which forbids him from publishing the book again. Because of this, many online retailers either don't carry it or their secondhand merchants jack up the price to absurd levels. I got my copy for pretty cheap, but generally they run at least 15 dollars for a cheap, no dust jacket version. I hope everyone enjoys this.

Also, this is my second attempt at uploading this so let's be sure to give WMG a giant round of applause for being Nazi's and claiming that I violated their copyright with my initial upload. Way to go, WMG, you're stopping the flow of information. You guys are awesome. Sure, I uploaded something that was "copyrighted". I mean it was in a lossy format and the song Imagine is not all over YouTube. That was my bad. Seriously. People would really look to MY video to hear Imagine. I sincerely apologize.

Ugh.

Also, for some reason, there is a LONG gap between songs and I don't know why this is. They should be back to back. So I am sorry for that.

It never ceases to amaze me how John could quickly change his look, & always look so cool. I'm now 49 & since I was 6 or so I have always been amazed at his chameleon type ability. You have to be thin w/unique features & have good hair, that's a start. Many of these photos are from Fred Seaman's book, a must-read for Lennon fans, the last part is chilling where he was nearly murdered himself by Yuko's goons, I hope you're well Fred where ever you are ...

Fred is alive and well. He's currently working as a social worker for the city of New York.

Re: John's appearance...it's weird because at times he looks perhaps a bit older than his age and then at other times, like, the next day he could look like about 15 years younger. I don't get it. But he was always forever cool. Seriously. One of the most fascinating people to ever live.

Fred is a very good friend of mine and he is a very cool guy. He's been demonized by YO in the press so a lot of people think of him as a hack, but he's not. He's just been a victim of trial by media. As far as me posting this stuff, I don't know if Yoko is even aware of it and even if she was I don't think there would be much she could do about it.

Ah, that's part of the beauty. He wanted to be in New York. He fought to stay in the United States. Even with our gun laws and previous death threats. Something we can study and contemplate for the next millennium
