i´m confused

What about the meaning of " i like to swim" and " i like swimming"??
-
@12elenidim Hey there. The Gerund - Infinitive thing refers to the word that comes IMMEDIATELY after the word (either it is a verb -eg. like, or a preposition -eg. of etc). that takes one of the two structures. So I 'd write your sentence as "I'd like to go (infinitive) swimming. Plus, the word swimming is also a noun. Hope it helped

@EnglishLessons4U Hey, I just came across your vids. Nice job! Now, concerning 'go to helping' I' d argue that the word "to" is not the 'infinitive to' but the preposition. A clear example of this is the phrase "I'm looking forward to hearing from you soon" that we often find in letters. Correct me if I'm wrong :)

Hey Teacher...
I like (to watch) your videos...
They are very useful.
I'd hate to stop (watching) them...
You have been helping me a lot.
Kisses... your student (Márcio)

There's one exception I know. You must say "I'm looking forward to HEARING form you" or "I look forward to HEARING from you", for exemple.
