@iamtheliberated No logic there. I was comparing comparable (Per cap GDP) societies/countries. If you think it's only about size, then compare Texas to them, or include China and Japan - either way, significantly more gun crime in the US. As for protective clothing - these are NOT weapons. They're no different to hard hats, helmets & seatbelts, none of which kill people but all of which are becoming 'more compulsory' in sensible jurisdictions. The GBH rate in the UK is falling!!

If guns kill people and gun control is so great, why have UK police started offering chain mail augmented kevlar to protect cops against the rising rate of KNIFE attacks? Guns kill people? A firearm is a machine, just like a car, a chainsaw, etc. Not deadly until fired at a human being, just like the others aren't deadly until used to run someone down, butcher someone, etc. It takes intent to make a machine a weapon.

Switzerland has tough gun laws, hand guns are basically illegal. Rifles are hardly the concealable hand guns that cause so many deaths in the US. More countries with tough gun laws and lower homicide rates? PRC, Germany, Japan, FRA, SWE. And in all these countries, sensible debate wins votes. Blind you are.

Take switzerland for example every male is required to have an assault rifle in their home and they have the lowest violent crime rate in the world. Compare the US to other countries of similar "richness" (GDP per capita, etc.) and you'll find NZ, AUS, UK, Norway etc... all have much lower homicide rates AND tighter gun control. In NZ, UK etc, police don't even carry guns. In the US, you are 4 times more likely to be murdered, regardless of the method, but most of those murders are with guns. Guns kill people, so of course it's the problem.

Talking to gun toting yobbos is like expecting Bible bashers to respect a logical argument. Lower IQ = blinded by faith. If there were less guns, would less people be killed by guns? That answer is obvious. As is: if there were no guns, how many would die from gun crime? The US is one messed up place. You're welcome to it!
