Point cloud animation of the USS Missouri (BB-63). The entire external hull of the ship was documented in January 2010 while in dry-dock by team headed by Smart GeoMetrics, a division of Smart Multimedia, Inc. for the USS Missouri Memorial Association. Three Leica laser scanners were used over a 4 day window between scaffolding being removed and the ship returning to the water.
Have you ever heard of Unlimited Detail? This filters through everything and only inputs a number of point cloud points the equivelent to that of the resolution of the screen, thus giving ability to work massive graphics on hardwareless pcs and laptops?
Its amazing and when artwork gets around looking like this from the pros from models and scans.
