@dancingforrain2012 private health care is just another form of legalized theft by insurance companies...so what's your point moron? How long will you take it up the ass form private insurance companies who make billions (and they pay millions to your elected 'leaders' / whores to keep it that way!) Medicare works fine, our medical practice has far less problems with dealing with them than with insurance scumbags. Try to take Medicare away from seniors & see how that goes for ya, eh?

Plus, the GOVERNMENT has a monopoly on TONS of stuff, like non-package mail delivery! The Postal Service is the ONLY company that can deliver letters and non-package items in your mailbox. It's a federal offense for any other company to exist for this purpose, and the feds WILL take it seriously. Remember when Lysander Spooner posed a threat to them by giving consumers an even better product? Then they got all butthurt and shut HIM down.

Every state in the union has at least 2 health insurance companies. Now I'm not saying this is necessarily the most desirable situation, but it's not exactly a "monopoly." Quit throwing around economic terms to mean what YOU want rather than the truth. It's almost as bad as Barry Lynn's bitching about "concentration" and WalMart.

Do liberals even know the definition of the word "monopoly"?? You can't just clal something a "monopoly" simply because there isn't a public, gov't-run alternative! That's the norm for LOTS of industries. Plenty of states have only a few major grocery stores, like Kroger for 11 states. Should we call THAT a "grocery store monopoly"? come on... Perfect competition just isn't viable or present for most industries. It's not reality. But I can assure you that EVERY state has at least 2 nsurers
