May Day "Riot" aka Rave in Downtown Santa Cruz

During my cigarette break from the amazing Chop Tops CD Release Party....From what I saw of the parade of drunken buffoons it was more like a dance party than a riot... the local anarchists gathered together with some road flares, torches and techno music to celebrate their own holiday.

People, this had nothing to do with illegal immigrants. It wasn't even advertised as an immigration protest. There were flyers for a May Day street party, a bunch of young people showed up to see what it was about, then the organizers put on black masks and used the crowd as cover while they vandalized public property. That was the FBI's conclusion. Sure, they were assholes, but this had nothing to do with immigration.

It was a bunch of young college age kids who wanted to have a reason to parade the streets and a few individuals decided to take it too far. That's it. No mas.
