As a 77year old Englishman approaching the end of my life may I once again pay tribute to this generation of men and women who fought so valiantly for the cause of Democracy & Freedom. I was a boy during the war and have been able to grow up and lead a good life free from the horror of a Nazi system. God Bless you all for your many acts of sacrifice.

Having met a German veteran of WW2, I can understand where you are coming from. I think many Germans were forced into the fight, conscripted, etc...and died in a madman's crusade. The exception were the SS and the Fanatics who wanted war and took part in the atrocities of the Final Solution. WW2 was a very dark time in human history, its scars are with us today and for generations to come.
