Video shows a hawk that appears to have been shot at. It tried to lift off with its prey, but could not lift off.
The shots can't be heard because the sound track was changed. Will add the video with original sound.

Hawks are a federally protected species - shooting them is a FEDERAL crime. Look up the Migratory Bird Treaty Act

@MrCrazyMagee I think the squirrel survived and got away. I looked for it and it wasn't there. The hawk may have just taken some hair. I thought the squirrel was dead when I photographed it.
