The MT-LB is the Russian's go-anywhere, all-terrain tracked armored family of fighting vehicles equivalent of our M113 Gavin. It gets its great mobility by having 6 roadwheels instead of the regular 5 on the Gavin, extending its foot print and lowering ground pressures. ALL of our logistics should move by 6-roadwheel MTVL Gavins so it can be NON-LINEAR and unpredictable by going cross-country and staying off roads/trails/streets where land mines await.
Another amazing "icing" capability the MT-LB has that should be fitted to our M113 Gavins "cake" is a dozer blade

And on the back a back-hoe can be attached to the MT-LB to dig-in infantry fighting positions so the men are not too exhausted to fight or get killed by air bursting high explosive shells

The Russians are really learning and getting their act together. We can and should learn a lot from them instead of smugly proclaiming our crap doesn't stink because we cover it in red, white and blue.
