I was at the game too, but don't remember as I was only 6. I do remember some later games at Memorial. It seemed so big to me as a kid but I think it only held maybe 47,000. Who is your dad? Must have been happy after upsetting Michigan, that's the last time they beat Michigan at home, 32 years man!!

This is what Gopher football outdoors at home use to look like. I'm glad Gopher football at home will be outdoors again next season in their new on campus stadium. I've seen the virtual tour & some of the updates on its construction. That stadium is impressive & will be more so when completed.

Thank you for this GREAT MEMORY for me! I took my brother to the game as a birthday present! We stopped at a bakery for lunch (soft warm baked bread, and brew) then parked the car and walked down University Avenue following the band to the stadium. Bought tickets from a fellow selling his (it wasn't a sellout game) and had seats on midway up on the Minnesota 40 yard line.)

Gosh...I'm reliving the moment. GoGophers!
P.S. Iowa still SUCKS!

The Gophers beat both Rose Bowl teams that year? That's like when the Vikings beat the Giants last year, actually, they crushed the Giants. And yet, Eli Manning is a Super Bowl Champion. Go figure.
