Movie trailer for the 1966 George Axlerod comedy "Lord Love a Duck" starring Roddy McDowall, Tuesday Weld, Lola Albright, Martin West and Ruth Gordon. A bright satirical comedy about an innocent high school girl granted her wishes by a student prodigy. A broad satire of teenage culture in the sixties, its targets ranging from progressive education to beach movies.
I talked to Roddy when he was doing "Dial M for Murder" in NYC. He said he was desperate for work when he did this.

A teenage rebellion movie. A unique, one of a kind film. Expressionism. Back when putting beautiful women in movies was not a crime.

Saw this on afternoon TV in the late '60s, early '70s. Only thing I remember was McDowall reminiscing and saying softly, "Barbara Ann Green..." He put alot of world-wise meaning into that name.

I just saw this earlier this week on AMC, and it was the first time in years that I'd seen it. What a great movie. A movie like this could NEVER be duplicated in any way shape or form no matter how hard they tried. This is a one-off deal that is an nstant classic. Hollywood, don't even THINK about it!!!

I used to see this on TV when I was growing up, and it fascinated me. As an adult, I saw it again and loved it even more. It contains some of the most wonderfully weird scenes I've ever seen. Ruth Gordon getting drunk, Tuesday Weld seducing sweater money out of her estranged old man, the eating scene in the car!!!! Lord love a duck!
