Home movies of the Eastland Center in Harper Woods, Michigan in 1959, shot by Fred W. Boegelein. Scenes include the lantana bed, moss roses, hippo statue, lion & mouse statue, tiger lilies, and a couple of 1959 Chevys!
Oh how neat! :D My grandparents lived around the corner from the mall and would take us there. I remember hurting my knee on the mouse while climbing in the lion. I wonder if it is still there w/ mouse intact. I remember seeing the hippo a number of years ago. Thanks for posting!
My dad took me to Eastland to see a Yogi Bear/ Huckleberry Hound function for kids one Saturday morning. Two people were dressed in large costumes, and they performed on an open air stage since Eastland was not yet enclosed. Quite a crowd in attendance as I remember!
Detroit is destroyed because you let the Niggers into your cities!! Their a curse to every city in America!!

Ah, the good old days! It's such a shame that Eastland is now over run with cockroaches and rodents now; with no signs of pestilence control....

Wow!! This really takes me back. I grew up in HW in the 60s. I remember he hippo and the lion/mouse. It was a great place to be a kid.
