This is my Jib crane. Built from scrap hang glider parts and other goodies. Total cost is under $50.

  • Very cool! I may have to make one of these. How long is the bar from the hang glider?

  • The arm length (from pivot point to camera mount) is about 6 feet. I have some more material and plan on making an extension so it can be more than 10 feet.

  • No bobaandy...you need to spend some time using the dictionary. I hate it when wannabies get out of hand on youtube

  • It's a jib, by the way. A jib and a crane are two different things. A crane allows two people to ride in with the camera to operate it. A jib is operated remotely.

  • Really nice Dave. Good work. Don't worry, you'll

    work the bugs out.

  • Cool. Thanks for the info.

  • hey industrious dave...use a smaller dia pulley or the same as the other end, a pivoting straight bar, to get more range of motion. longer less, shorter more. and cables from a old glider will work better than your white rope....
