  • With the technology today, why not mandate officers wear mic cameras on their personal radios and have video in their cars so that ever encounter is recorded and available for a civilian review board, trained in proper police procedure, to evaluate. Civilians have no business in or around in progress crimes. It is a safety issue for the police as well as the people filming.

  • police in my area all ready have mic on them but it is only use to run audio thru unproven lie detectors. I agree with the civilian review board. But training them in police procedure only would be a very bad idea. they should have a good education in to the constituion and state constitution, I find that police procedure is a part of the problem. but I disagree with people around the police when they work people have aright to know whats going on fist hand and they know the risk when doing so.

  • I'm torn seeing this and videos like these from this group. I support and defended our constitutional rights and believe that some police officers do violate rights and should be held accountable for it. But more time that not this group seems to point a video camera in an officers face and then try to provoke a response from him. I do call that extremism.

  • well I think they do that because of the way they have been treated by cops in the past before joining cop watch. Its a kind of pay back? I mean where i live the cops love to harass the hell out of people. pull you over and the first thing they say is what are you doing, where are you going, why are you in this part of town all of witch they have no right to know and it seems they try to make you feel like your doing something wrong by just driving to work.

  • kinda funny people taking picures complaining about police taking pictures.

  • The cops are not just taking pics they turn them over to the fbi as suspected terrorist and the people are taking pics cuz of a lot of illiegal actions takin by the cops

  • Do cops have a dangerous and thankless job, you bet they do. But it does not give them the right to abuse their authority. We citizens have a right to observe and record police activity, but not in an "in your face" kind of way. Just do it from a safe distance where police work is not interfered with.

Those who criticize are missing the point that there are indeed abusive/dishonest elements in police that need to be removed.

  • We are watching parts of 1930's Europe play out. This government system of ours has grown out of control. We have to shut down the DHS movement of pumping federal dollars into our local PD. This is not what our founders left us, its the tyranny they spoke of and warned us about. Buy guns, buy ammo and stay close to your family and friends. This thing is going to blow up soon. could be a few years, could be a few months. No telling but its going to happen.

  • R0N PAUL 2012! End the Police State.

  • Our government has turned into a stiking pile of shit!!

  • copwatch PLEASE come to Napa, Calif.

  • @paisteuser06

Yes, not to mention that having someone approach them holding up a camera can be unsettling when they are in the middle of a tense situation and someone pops up in their peripheral vision with arms extended, now they have to determine WTF the newcomer is pointing at them and take their focus off the perp they are dealing with. Even more intolerable is the copwatchers try to interrogate the police in the middle of an arrest. What assholes.

  • This is for the "copwatchers"...when you're sticking your cameras in an officer's face demanding answers to why someone is being arrested, or getting in the way with an investigation that's taking place, YOU'RE ASKING FOR BEING CHARGED WITH OBSTRUCTION. You claim you know all the laws and the U.S. Constitution of the Bill of Rights, take a look at the laws and offenses that can swim up and bite you in the rear when you're camera to nose of an officer...save yourself from getting booked.

  • @Blahblobify absolutely, thank you. These so called "Copwatchers" are essentially hindering law enforcement officers from doing their daily functions. You're right, instead of mobbing officers with cameras asking them for their name and badge #, questioning law enforcement action that has (or will take place), be an extra set of eyes and ears for criminal activity, report reckless driving, report crimes that are in progress at a neighbors house, HELP THEM DO THEIR JOBS.

  • why don't these faggits watch criminals instead of getting in the cops way and fucking with them while they are doing their job?

Assholes are just making things more dangerous.

  • It is unlawfull for cops to take your photo, notice I did'nt say illegal but unlawfull big difference! they are public servants and have no right to snap your photo for any reason espescially for some list.Welcome to the new world order rampant criminallity and mafia style police. How's that CHANGE working out for you? Ron Paul for president restore the Republic and the constitution watch Obama deception and Fall of the Republic NOW then Police State 2000,Police State2,Police State 3 and 4.Wake up
