This video began as a test to see how many characters my computer could handle. There is a lot of action in this video (at certain points the video skips due to the sharpness preset I used to render this video from Vegas Pro 9) and it becomes immediately obvious that the zombies stand no chance against these War of the World like machines.
Re: Combine Machines including the Striders:
Militarily, the Combine make use of both synthetic machines—machines powered by organic components—and traditional mechanical machines such as armored personnel carriers and attack helicopters.[9] The most prominent of the synthetic machines are insect-like gunships and 50-foot-tall (15 m) armored creatures that walk upon three legs, called Striders, which are armed with a high powered warpspace cannon and a head-mounted pulse turret.[9] In Episode Two, a smaller equivalent to the Strider is introduced. The 2.5 m (8 ft) tall, tripodal assault machines, called Hunters, fire explosive flechettes at targets and are small enough to maneuver indoors. Other synths are seen in the game, although their roles are not elaborated on. Sentry guns are also used by the Combine.[9] The Combine also use headcrabs as a biological weapon against dissidents, firing artillery shells loaded with the creatures into areas and allowing the headcrabs to infest them.[9] (Wikipedia, Combine (Half-Life))

Garry's Mod (officially abbreviated to GMod) is a sandbox physics game that allows the player to manipulate objects and experiment with physics using the Source engine.[6] Garry's Mod has been available on Steam's content delivery service since November 29, 2006.[1] Despite being a standalone game, Garry's Mod requires the user to own at least one Source game on Steam such as Half-Life 2, Counter-Strike: Source, or Team Fortress 2.[1] It is also commonly used for the creation and publishing of videos,[7] mainly from Team Fortress 2, Portal and Left 4 Dead, on YouTube due to the wide range of features.
