This video assumes you have already bled the clutch. If you haven't, stop. You have to have every bit of air out of the clutch hydraulics before beginning these procedures.

Clutch adjustment is key on 4g63 cars. Preloading the clutch can lead to catastrophic engine main thrust bearing failure. The clutch hydraulics need to have enough fluid volume flowing through them to fully-actuate the slave, but enough pedal travel to allow it to flow back to the reservoir when disengaged.

This video covers the basics of how to do this. Also included are part numbers for 1g and 2g clutch pedal and linkage assemblies and a brief documentary of one of my previous failures.

For the most comprehensive information about how all of the clutch hydraulic components work together, what happens when you get it wrong, what the accepted procedure is to adjust your clutch if you need to visualize it in a list... turn to the community! Dang you guys are the best! Below are some great resources you can use to help with your homework.

  • Question I just rebuilt my talon and the valve cover is pushing oil out any ideas pcv valve was replaced and the system is clear? Help lol

  • @supraevo87 4 things. Rings, valve stem seals, PCV system, inadequate valve cover breather. Do a compression test to make sure everything's correct in the combustion chambers. Pop the valve cover off and make sure the valve stem seals are all completely seated and snapped in place. Make sure the new PCV valve isn't clogged already (pushing oil... can clog it quick). If all's well, your breather is inadequate. Check my valve cover polishing video for details on that one. ;)

  • so everybody is saying "hes riding the lamborghini's clutch" what does that actually mean?? is it something bad and if it is how do u prevent from clutching?? or what ever its called.

  • @waverip3rs It means his foot never came off the clutch pedal. With a high friction point, it's a bad thing because the clutch slips unless it's released. If the clutch is slipping, then you're not accelerating as quickly as you can... but worse than that, it burns up the clutch if it's slipping.

In some conditions with a professional driver, it's intentional, but 99% of the time it's bad. All you have to do is hover over the pedal wen you're shifting to prevent it.

  • iv done this mad times already in and out, i just shimmed my pivot ball and my clutch when engaged in nutral "the clucth pedal up and not in gear" i can hear my TOB and pressure plate grinding againts each other.....and i still cant go into any gear...when i start it in first the car wants to take offf,, im tired of layng upside down and droppin trannys with no positive results!!

  • @Turbotjs do you have the motor plate in there? It's about 1/8" thick spacer between the block and transmission.
