At the very beginning of my Panamerican Peaks project I started from Deadhorse in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska above the Arctic Circle, the Northern End of the Panamerican Highway. In the summer the Dalton Highway - built for the Trans-Alaska-Pipeline back in the 70's - offers midnight sun, plenty of hills, dust, truck traffic (a ka the "haul road"), mosquitoes, the Atigun Pass in the Brooks Range and the famous Yukon Bridge. It's about 500 miles (800km) down to Fairbanks.
