I apparantely almost stepped on this 4 ft rattlesnake. My father in law noticed it coiled up looking like it was ready to strike. It was right off the side of the trail. We were lucky he noticed it in time, as there were still 5-6 ppl that were getting ready to pass it.

  • @smokine2001 they are in a national park...its illegal to kill it.

  • Too bad Steve Erwin is dead, otherwise this would have been an excellent episode for the Crocodile Hunter!

  • Beautiful molossus!

  • @smokine2001 its a national park

  • kill the stupid thing

  • Definitely a Northern Blacktail, and a beautiful one at that. I agree with azatrox, all of the ones I have captured have been very docile and never showed any attempt to strike.

  • That is a gorgeous Blacktail. In my experience, they tend to be more mellow compared to some other species of rattlesnakes. Very cool.

  • Blacktail Rattlesanke. Pretty good size too.
