"Songs in the Night"
by Samantha Crain & the Midnight Shivers

If I ever make a sound
That seems nervous or unfound
Take it as a child skippin' town
If the ground begins to roll
If your lead turns to gold
Thank the Lord and hope that it is so
This, here, this is the advent candle
A hope to stay and hold the weight, a peace to make

Cross our fingers
Torch the straw

Cause my baby's gonna be alright
I got songs in the night for you
Yeah my baby's gonna be alright
I got songs in the night for you

But when all of time commands
Can you burn down the house, friend
You built with your own hands?
When you're holding up your own head
Sobbing over a dry bed
Could you see the golden streets?
This, here, this is the advent candle
A hope to stay and hold the freight, a peace to make

Cross our fingers
Torch the straw

Cause my baby's gonna be alright
I got songs in the night for you
Yeah my baby's gonna be alright
I got songs in the night for you
And my baby's gonna be alright
I got songs in the night for you
Yeah my baby's gonna be alright
I got songs in the night for you

This, here, this is the advent candle
A hope to stay and hold the weight, a peace to make

  • deja vu, I'm stuck in the 60s, great band!!!

  • Great tune!! Hope these guys stick together. Guy playing electric guitar is a keeper!!!!

  • saw these guys in kentucky back in june opening for the avett brothers...i was completly blown away. great band

  • excellent. I just saw them in DC last week. Really great. Samantha's voice is mesmerizing and the band is so good. Great songs.

  • Love your voice , make me thing of 60's folk / love times .

  • This is so lovely and really sounds exactly like the band on stage (well, except for the lack of ambient noise and lousy sound system distortion present in the venues I've seen them perform in). They're wonderful-I can't recommend them highly enough!

  • beautiful.
