Lenovo QuickStart (Instant-On OS) Overview

The Lenovo S10 netbook has a pretty full featured instant-on operating system called quickstart. What this means is nearly instantly, from when the power button is pressed, the machine will start the QuickStart operating system. From there, the user can browse the web, check out some pictures and chat via skype. This addition is nice to have in a netbook but doesn't substitute a full OS such as linux or windows XP.

Tempid11 i think its running slow because he hasnt got rid of all the crapware they come with. I got the s12 and it was really slow until i uninstalled the crapware. After that it takes off

just used one for about a month. has been good enough for web surfing, chat, youtube, some movie watching, and ms word.

perhaps you were talking about 3d gaming?

From the Chat, can you log into Yahoo? I can log into MSN and Google Talk. But logging into Yahoo simplay hangs.

It does take up HDD space. Someone on our forum formatted the entire drive and now QuickStart is gone. It is definitely on a hidden partition.
