-- This video was requested by StackZ619 wanting to know how to Save a video file in Windows Movie Maker that she can upload onto YouTube.

-- Steps on how to do this --
1: Have your movie footage
2: File, Save Movie File
3: Set a file name, and where you want to save it (Default is normaly either My Videos or Desktop)
4: Click Other Settings, i would reccomend (Video for Local Playback) as it saves it in High Quality.
5: Wait for it to upload (This may take time depending on your computer speed, size of video or content inside video.
6: Once saved you can click 'Upload' on the YouTube homepage.
7: Locate your saved file, and click Upload
8: Choose a title, description, tags and category for your video then press save.
9: Wait for it to upload (This may take time depending on your computers upload/download rate, size of video and speed of YouTube server)
10: You may then hover over your username at the top bar then go down to 'My Videos'
11: You'll see that your video says 'Processing' this may take a little while to process but usualy not too long.
12: Once you're video has been processed your video is viewable to the public. Although it can take upto 6 hours for your video to appear on the YouTube search.

  • It always says "Windows Movie Maker cannot save the movie to the specified location. Verify that the original source files used in your movie are still available, that the saving location is still available, and that there is enough free disk space available, and then try again." I looked up videos to see if anyone addresses this problem... Do you think you can help me? (Oh and, the saving location, and original files are available and I do have enough space.)

  • @MrMastertony14 On step 4, instead of saving it as "Video for local playback," save it as "DV-AVI." Worked for me. Hope it helps!
