Please read the full description before watching the video. Thank you.

Documentary based on an article by Tom Junod (Esquire 2003) about a photograph (by Richard Drew) of a man falling from the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.

The film goes in search for the identity of the falling man and also how the photograph affected many people. Interviews with journalists, photographers and families who lost someone on 9/11. Directed by Henry Singer and narrated by Steven MacKintosh.

First broadcast by UK's Channel Four in March 2006.

So have you changed your mind about the comment that you left for me on the previous video?

  • 10 years... I am 28 now, and I can still feel the emotion as fresh as it was and I was half-way around the world when this terror was unleashed. I will never forget 9/11 and the people who died will forever be honored and remembered. And to the heroes of 9/11, you are an inspiration.

  • what does this have to do with the Falling Man? Take your atheist, science, rational believin ass to another video, you make me sick..

  • i think it is him

  • those 9 people that disliked this video is heartless...

  • I'm a little shocked that there was anything left to identify... I'm sorry if that's gross or cruel sounding..but falling from such a height...there couldn't have been much left. These poor souls... I'm so glad someone is telling their story.

  • I watched the whole documentary and I have decided that these people took control of their lives at the very moment it was about to be lost. I don't see it as suicide as the Hernandez family did; only two choices remained - let my family have a body to grieve over, or return to dust in the fire. For many it was fear and desperation that led them to jump, but not a suicide, because they knew they would die regardless. My deepest sympathies to all that lost someone on that tragic day.

  • what a bittersweet choice, to know that you are going to die, but yet you can choose not to burn alive, or not to be crushed or suffocated alive in the tower, that you could jump and end it all in an instant.

  • @langsense I am one of the guys who are quick to think and go over it so am sorry about that I now see what the mean and it does help play a role in telling the story but if I was in that building I would find a gun and put it to my head. NO way would I jump I would rather burn.

  • @68541l god made em perish

  • You know what everyone... I'm not a religious man or nothin but I hope with all my heart this man went to heaven. Rest my brother
