Anti-aliasing is a stupid practice in my opinion. It was invented because older cards could not get much performance when working on high resolutions (1024x768 at the time), so they had to work on lower resolutions (800x600 or 640x480) where aliasing appeared. But with anti-aliasing enabled you get lower performance than with a high resolution...

I've got an 8800GRS 512 now...
But, you can get an XFX one for around 50 bucks.

8600's are cheap now..dont know about the xfx version tho..evga is around 80 bucks..definately a good buy if u dont plan on running crysis at max or anything
