This is from a 1961 Sales Demo 33 1/3 recording. Zora Arkus-Duntov - The name Zora Arkus-Duntov has long been inextricably linked with Corvette in the minds of automotive historians and enthusiasts. But the story of Zora Arkus-Duntov runs far deeper than his twenty plus years of professional involvement as both Corvette's primary advocate within General Motors and as the fiberglass sports car's first chief engineer.

  • I have the original recording, too. I also have a 1961 Corvette, but I have only 270 hp.

  • Fking SOUND!! This goes straight to the Heart!!!

  • @TsugaC check w/Vette Views mag. They put some cassettes out several years ago...might still have the "rights" to distribute from Chevy.

  • got this on cassette from Vette Views mag many years ago @ Bloomington Gold @ Bloomington - the original fairgrounds site.

  • Good grief...Love it.

  • does it have a hemia

  • This recording is a real gem. Thank you for sharing it!

  • My grandfather restored Corvettes, when he died he left me the shell of this exact one... I'm still working on the car

  • Really the viper is just humming. Nothing compared to a low rumbling chevy 350, with advanced timing, an straight exhaust... I've converted 12 people to chevy with that car. We got a boat with the same job. Chevy 350. It goes like 90mph!!

  • We have one, 1961 corvette. My dad put straight exhaust on it, and advanced the Timing, so when it idols, it has low rumble and it's kind of rough. Definatly the best sounding car in the world!!!. My friend is a fan of dodge, so he says the dodge viper sounds better. WTF
