@RCTruckPulling Waiting on a working N64 I bought so I can compare the caps ESR values on a working unit to the caps on the non-working board! If that doesn't point to any problems then I'm at a loose as to what the problem may be!

Have the same problem which is really surprising considering my carts are in the original boxes and plastic bags and the console was used lightly (babied) and always stored in a plastic storage bag to keep it dust free after playing it. Makes me wonder about Nintendo product quality! Took it apart yesterday ... check the voltages and for cold solder points on the display socket ... none ... maybe it's a bad cap but I haven't a clue how to read these things (not a standard electrolytic cap)!

It could be that your cartridges are dirty. If my carts have dirt in them the same thing happens. I get the red light but nothing on the TV. Try blowing them off or cleaning the inside with a Q-tip slightly dampened with rubbing alcohol. If that doesn't work then I would take the console and get it refurbished. Hope that helps!
